We’ve added Left 4 Dead 2 dedicated server hosting to the MaximusHost platform.
Premium members and Founders can now create and manage Left 4 Dead 2 servers directly from MaximusHost, with quick setup, adjustable resources, server controls, backups, file management, and basic mod upload support available from the server management page.
Beta Access
Left 4 Dead 2 server hosting is currently in Beta.
During this phase, access is limited to:
- Founder members
- Premium members
This allows us to test real-world performance, refine configuration options, improve file and mod management, and continue building out the Left 4 Dead 2 hosting experience before a wider release.
What You Can Do Now
Left 4 Dead 2 servers currently support:
- Quick server creation
- Start, stop, and restart controls
- Adjustable CPU and RAM resources
- Server name settings
- Server password support
- RCON password support
- Game mode selection
- Default map selection
- Steam Group ID setting
- Backups and storage tracking
- File Manager access
- Manual .vpk addon uploads
- Direct connect using your server address and port
Left 4 Dead 2 servers on MaximusHost are designed for private co-op groups, community nights, podcast events, custom campaigns, and modded zombie survival sessions.
Joining Your Server
Once your server is running, players can join from the Left 4 Dead 2 developer console using:
connect your-server-address:portThe full connection address is shown on the server management page.
Dedicated IP addresses are not required for Left 4 Dead 2 servers, but servers may use a custom port. This keeps hosting flexible while still allowing players to connect directly.
Mod Support
Left 4 Dead 2 servers currently support manual addon uploads through the File Manager.
This is useful for .vpk addon files, custom campaigns, branding packs, and other server-side files that can be placed into the server’s addon area.
More advanced mod support may be expanded over time as we continue testing SourceMod, MetaMod, Workshop workflows, and other community server tools.
A Note About Beta Support
Because Left 4 Dead 2 hosting is still in beta on MaximusHost, some settings and tools may continue to change as we improve the experience.
