We’ve rolled out a major upgrade to the Minecraft mod management system on MaximusHost. Installing, updating, and maintaining mods is now significantly easier — and much safer for your server.
These improvements are designed to remove the frustration of managing mod files manually while giving you powerful tools directly in the control panel.
Install Mods Directly From Modrinth
You can now search and install mods directly from Modrinth without ever leaving your server panel.
Simply search for a mod and click Install + Required Dependencies. MaximusHost automatically:
- Finds the correct version for your Minecraft version
- Matches your mod loader (NeoForge, Forge, Fabric, etc.)
- Installs the mod directly onto your server
No more downloading .jar files, uploading them manually, or worrying about compatibility.
Automatic Dependency Installation
Many Minecraft mods require additional libraries to function properly. Missing dependencies are one of the most common causes of modded servers failing to start.
MaximusHost now automatically detects and installs required dependencies during the install process.
For example, installing Immersive Portals will automatically install required libraries like Cloth Config API if they are needed.
Dependencies are also clearly displayed in the Mods panel so you can see exactly what each mod relies on.
Automatic Mod Update Detection
The Mods panel now checks installed mods against the latest versions available on Modrinth.
For every mod you’ll see:
- Installed version
- Latest available version
- Whether an update is available
This makes it easy to keep your server up to date without constantly checking mod websites.
Update All Mods
Keeping a modded server updated can be time-consuming — especially when running many mods.
You can now update everything with a single click using Update All Mods. The system will check each installed mod and upgrade it to the newest compatible version automatically.
One-Click Server Modpack Download
Want to share your server’s mod setup with friends?
You can now download your entire server modpack using Download Server Modpack. This generates a ready-to-use archive containing all installed mods so players can quickly match your server’s configuration.

These improvements were built specifically for the way people actually run modded Minecraft servers. The goal is simple:
