A dedicated Palworld server gives your group a shared place to play and a manager for supported settings, players, and worlds. Creation and day-to-day management are separate steps: first choose resources and create the server, then confirm the active world and access settings before inviting the group.
Plan before creation
Choose a location that works well for your group, decide who will manage the server, and consider whether you are starting a new world or continuing an existing save. MaximusHost offers 4–16 GB RAM and 2–8 vCPU and recommends starting with 8–12 GB RAM and 4–6 vCPU.
Palworld servers use shared networking; a dedicated IP is not required. The create form shows your available resource options and estimated cost.
Create through My Servers
Open My Account → My Servers → Create New Server → Create Palworld. Enter a server name, choose a location, and select RAM and CPU. Review the one-time creation charge and running estimate, then submit. The Palworld creation guide explains the form.
After submitting, return to My Servers and wait for the server to show it is ready. Open the management page and copy the connection details before inviting players.
Configure the first session
Open Properties to set the server name, description, password, maximum players, and community-server mode. Shared users need the edit_properties permission to change these settings. Changes take effect after a server restart.
For a private group, decide whether to set a password and whether the community-server option is appropriate. Save one coherent set of changes, restart if needed, and test with one player before distributing access. Keep passwords out of public messages and use platform sharing permissions for management access.
When the test player can join, confirm that the expected world loads and that the password and community listing behave as you intended. Share the connection details with the group through a private channel. Give helpers only the permissions they need in MaximusHost; players joining the game do not need your account login or server-management access.
Select and protect the intended world
The owner can use Worlds to keep multiple saves and choose which one loads next. Stop the server before creating or switching worlds. A new world is initialized the next time the server starts. Characters, inventories, bases, guilds, and map progress stay with their save, so switching worlds does not combine progress.
Tell the group which world will be active and create an owner backup first. Keep the previous save until you have started the selected world and confirmed the expected bases and progress. See the Palworld management guide for the manager overview.
Use the administration tools
Use Players to see who is online and Console and Logs to investigate startup or connection issues. The manager also includes Resources, Files, Backups, and scheduling controls. The owner can manage worlds and backups. Shared users can use the management tools available with their granted permissions; the Palworld Backups and Worlds tabs are owner-only.
Troubleshoot in a useful order
If a player cannot connect, confirm the server is started, copy the current connection details, check the password and community setting, and verify that the player has a compatible client. If the server starts with an unexpected world, stop and check the selected save directory before changing properties or resources.
If a setting does not take effect, check that it was saved and restart the server. Review console messages before changing resources, and make one change at a time so you can identify what helped.
If nobody can join, compare the server address and password with the details you shared, then check the server state and console. If one player is affected, ask them to check their game version and connection method against someone who joined successfully. These checks help separate a server configuration problem from an individual client issue.
