Resources
The Resources tab lets you view live server usage and adjust the hardware allocated to your game server.
This page is available for all supported MaximusHost game servers.
Use it to monitor performance, review recent usage, and scale your server up or down as needed.
Allocated Resources
This section shows the resources currently assigned to your server.
Typical items include:
Plan
Your current resource plan or custom allocation.
Memory
The RAM assigned to the server.
Example:
2.0 GB (+0.5 GB system)
Some servers include additional reserved memory for system processes.
(Reserved system memory is ignored when deducting credits)
CPU
The processor power assigned to the server.
Example:
1.5 vCPU
Node
The physical hosting location.
Example:
us-east
Live Resource Usage
This section displays real-time performance while the server is running.
Metrics update automatically every minute.
Memory Usage
Shows how much RAM is currently being used.
Example:
2.2 / 2.5 GB
If memory usage remains near maximum, your server may lag or crash.
CPU Usage
Shows current processor load.
Example:
18%
High CPU usage may occur during:
- World generation
- Many players online
- Mods/plugins
- Large automation systems
- Heavy AI or simulation tasks (game dependent)
Recent Usage (Last 24h uptime)
This section summarizes average and peak usage since the current uptime period.
Example:
| Metric | Average | Peak |
|---|---|---|
| Memory | 2.2 | 2.2 |
| CPU | 18 | 45 |
Use this to determine whether your server needs more or fewer resources.
Change Resources
Use the sliders to adjust your server allocation.
Typical controls:
Memory (GB)
Increase RAM for:
- Larger worlds
- More players
- Heavy mods/plugins
- Better stability
CPU (vCPU)
Increase CPU for:
- Faster tick performance
- Complex game systems
- Automation-heavy gameplay
- Simulation-heavy games
Cost Display
The panel shows your estimated running cost.
Example:
Cost: 11 credits/hour (0.1833/min)
Charges are based on your selected resources while the server is active according to your billing model.
Restart Required
Resource changes usually require a server restart.
After changing sliders:
- Click Apply
- Restart the server
Without restarting, new resources may not take effect immediately.
Recommended Resource Sizing
Small Private Server
- Lower RAM
- Lower CPU
Good for a few friends.
Modded / Large Server
- Higher RAM
- Moderate to high CPU
Public / Busy Server
- Higher RAM
- Higher CPU
Troubleshooting
Server lagging
Check if CPU usage peaks frequently.
Increase CPU allocation if needed.
Out of memory / crashing
Increase RAM.
Paying for unused resources
Review Recent Usage and reduce sliders if consistently low.
Changes not applied
Restart the server after clicking Apply.
Tips
- Increase resources only when needed.
- Use Recent Usage data before upgrading.
- CPU will spike during start/restart - This is normal.
- CPU affects responsiveness.
- RAM affects stability.
- Scale down during off-hours if your workflow allows.
