Credits
The Credits & Storage tab shows estimated operating costs, storage usage, and dedicated IP requirements for your server.
This page is available for supported MaximusHost game servers.
Use it to understand how many credits your server may consume and how storage/backups affect usage.
Storage Usage
This section shows how much disk space your server is using.
Typical items include:
Total Backup Size
Combined size of stored backups.
Example:
1 GB
Large backup totals usually mean:
- Many backups saved
- Large worlds/maps
- Modded data
- Long server history
Total Storage
Total space used by the server data.
Example:
1.58 GB
This includes:
- World/save files
- Mods/plugins
- Config files
- Logs
- Backups
Monthly Credit Cost
This section estimates how many credits the server may use under different usage patterns.
Run 24/7
Estimated monthly cost if the server stays online continuously.
Example:
9369.5 credits
Off 24/7
Estimated monthly cost if the server remains off.
Example:
9.5 credits
Stopped servers use storage credits. A dedicated-IP charge applies only when the IP remains assigned and billable. Founder stopped-server storage/IP charges are waived.
Based on Schedule
Estimated monthly cost using your current automated schedules.
Example:
3285.8 credits
This helps compare savings from start/stop automation.
Dedicated IP
Some game server types require a dedicated IP address.
This section shows whether one is required.
Required for this server type
Example:
- Yes
- No
Dedicated IP Monthly Charge
If required, the cost is:
3000 credits per month
This is the 30-day equivalent while the IP is assigned and billable. Runtime-leased Standard IPs are released on stop. Premium reservations remain assigned and billable while stopped. Founder stopped-server IP charges are waived.
Why Dedicated IP May Be Needed
Some games or server types require their own public IP for:
- Port conflicts
- Discovery systems
- Fixed connection endpoints
- Game engine limitations
Reducing Credit Usage
Ways to lower monthly cost:
Use Schedules
Automatically stop the server when unused.
Lower Resources
Reduce RAM or CPU if over-provisioned.
Clean Storage
Delete old backups or unused files.
Remove Unused Servers
Inactive servers still may consume storage or dedicated IP charges.
Recommended Uses
Casual Friend Group
Use schedules so the server runs only during play hours.
Public Community Server
Run continuously if players join at any time.
Seasonal Server
Power down or archive between active periods.
Troubleshooting
Cost seems too high
Check:
- Server running 24/7
- High resource allocation
- Dedicated IP assigned
- Old backups no longer needed
Off cost still exists
Possible causes:
- Storage usage
- Reserved resources
- Dedicated IP requirement
Based on Schedule seems wrong
Review your active schedules and ensure times reflect actual use.
Tips
- Compare Run 24/7 vs Based on Schedule regularly.
- Schedules are one of the best ways to save credits.
- Delete old backups if no longer needed.
- Dedicated IP charges continue while assigned and billable.
- Review this page whenever changing server resources.
