The Sharing tab allows you to give other MaximusHost users access to your server with custom permissions.

This page is available for supported MaximusHost game servers.

Sharing is useful for friends, moderators, co-admins, family members, or trusted builders who need limited control.

Ways to Share Access

You can typically share access in two ways:

Share with a Friend

Use the friend selector to grant access to someone already connected to your MaximusHost friends list.

Only eligible friends not already shared on the server may appear.

Invite by Email

Enter the email address of another MaximusHost member to grant access.

If they are not already known to you, the member directory may help locate them.

Permission Options

When sharing access, choose what the other user is allowed to do.

Common permissions include:

Start / Stop

Allows the user to power the server on or off.

Useful for trusted friends who play at different times.

View Console

Allows access to server logs and command console.

Useful for moderators or admins.

Edit Files

Allows access to the File Manager.

This can include configs, mods, and important server data.

Grant carefully.

Manage Backups

Allows creating, downloading, restoring, or deleting backups.

Useful for co-owners or technical helpers.

Edit Properties

Allows changing gameplay/server settings.

Examples may include:

• Gameplay settings
• Player limits
• Server rules
• Server description

Share Access

After selecting the user and permissions, click Share Access to apply access.

The invited/shared user should then receive an email and notification on their server dashboard.

After accepting the share, all shared servers appear in a Shared Servers tab on their server dashboard.

Shared Users

The lower section lists users who currently have access.

Typical columns include:

• Email
• Permissions
• Status

Example status:

• active

Edit Existing Permissions

Click Edit beside a shared user to change what they can access.

Use this to promote, reduce, or correct permissions.

Remove Access

Click Remove to revoke access completely.

The user will no longer be able to manage the server.

Security Advice

Only share access with people you trust.

Users with file or backup access may be able to alter important server data.

Users with console access may be able to run powerful commands depending on server setup.

Troubleshooting

User cannot see shared server

Check:

• Correct account/email used
• Share access completed successfully
• Permissions still active

Wrong permissions granted

Use Edit to update them.

Need to remove someone quickly

Use Remove immediately.

Tips

• Start with minimal permissions.
• Expand access only if needed.
• Review shared users occasionally.
• Remove old access when groups change.
• Keep full control limited to trusted people.
