Guides and documentation for getting the most out of your servers.

Mods

The Mods tab allows you to install, update, remove, and upload mods for supported Minecraft Java modded server types such as Forge, Fabric, NeoForge, or similar loaders.

This page is used to manage server-side mods quickly without manual file transfers.

Important Requirements

Mods only work when your server type supports them.

Examples:

  • Forge
  • Fabric
  • NeoForge
  • Quilt (if supported)

Mods will not function on pure Vanilla servers.

Always make sure:

  • Your loader type matches the mod
  • Minecraft version matches the mod version
  • Required dependencies are installed

Installed Mods

The top section shows mods currently installed on your server.

Each mod card may display:

  • Mod name
  • Description
  • Installed version
  • Latest available version
  • Dependencies
  • Remove button

Example:

  • Create: Ultimate Factory
  • Installed: 2.2.3
  • Latest: 2.2.3

Dependencies

Some mods require other mods to function.

Example:

  • Create requires Create framework/addons
  • Library mods may be required by many mods

Dependencies may appear nested under a mod entry.

Do not remove required dependencies unless you also remove the mod that needs them.

Update All Mods

Use Update All Mods to update installed mods to newer compatible versions.

Recommended before major play sessions or after bugfix releases.

Use caution:

Large updates may break worlds, configs, or compatibility.

Download Server Modpack

Use Download Server Modpack to generate/download a pack of the server’s required mods.

This is useful for players so they can install the same mod set needed to join your server.

Remove a Mod

Click Remove beside a mod to uninstall it.

After removal:

  • Restart server
  • Confirm no remaining mods depend on it

Removing core libraries can break other mods.

Install from Modrinth

Use the search area to browse compatible mods directly from Modrinth.

Typical flow:

  1. Search for a mod name
  2. Review results
  3. Click Install + Required Dependencies

The system filters results based on your current:

  • Server loader type
  • Minecraft version

This helps prevent incompatible installs.

Search Filters

You may see:

  • Search box
  • Filter current results

Use filters when many mods match your search.

Install + Required Dependencies

This installs:

  • The selected mod
  • Required library mods
  • Needed dependencies

This is the safest install method.

Upload New Mod

Use Upload New Mod to manually upload .jar mod files.

Useful for:

  • Private mods
  • Older mods
  • Beta/test builds
  • Mods not listed in Modrinth

Typical steps:

  1. Click Choose File
  2. Select the .jar
  3. Click Upload Mod
  4. Restart server

Restart Required

After adding, removing, or updating mods, restart the server.

Without a restart, changes usually will not load.

Recommended Workflow

New Modpack Server

  1. Select correct loader (Forge/Fabric)
  2. Match Minecraft version
  3. Install mods from Modrinth
  4. Download server modpack for players
  5. Restart server

Existing Server Update

  1. Backup world
  2. Update mods
  3. Restart
  4. Test before inviting players

Troubleshooting

Players cannot join

Usually caused by:

  • Missing client mods
  • Wrong mod versions
  • Wrong Minecraft version
  • Wrong loader type

Use Download Server Modpack when available.

Server crashes on startup

Likely causes:

  • Incompatible mod
  • Missing dependency
  • Wrong Minecraft version

Remove recent installs first.

World missing blocks/items

Occurs when mods were removed.

Restore backup or reinstall missing mods.

Mod installed but not working

Check:

  • Correct loader type
  • Correct game version
  • Restart completed

Tips

  • Add a few mods at a time.
  • Backup before major changes.
  • Prefer Install + Required Dependencies.
  • Keep client and server versions matched.
  • Avoid mixing loaders (Forge mods on Fabric, etc.).
