Guides and documentation for getting the most out of your servers.

Worlds

The Worlds tab allows you to manage multiple Minecraft worlds on a single server.

You can switch between worlds, create new ones, import existing maps, or delete unused worlds.

This is useful for keeping separate survival, creative, event, or test worlds without creating multiple servers.

Important: Server Must Be Stopped

The server must be stopped before switching or modifying worlds.

This helps prevent corruption or incomplete saves.

Before making world changes:

  1. Stop the server
  2. Wait until fully offline
  3. Manage worlds
  4. Start the server again

Existing Worlds

Saved worlds appear as cards on the page.

Each world may display:

  • World name
  • Difficulty
  • Seed
  • Active status

Example:

  • world
  • four_villages

The currently loaded world is marked ACTIVE.

Seed Visibility

Seeds may be hidden by default.

Use the eye button to reveal the seed value.

Seeds are useful for:

  • Recreating worlds
  • Sharing terrain generation
  • Finding structures with seed tools

Switch Worlds

Click Switch on a world to make it the active world.

After switching:

  1. Start the server
  2. Players will join the selected world

Only one world can be active at a time.

Delete a World

Click Delete to permanently remove a saved world.

Use caution:

Deleting a world removes builds, player progress, and terrain unless backups exist.

Always back up important worlds first.

Create New World

Use the Create New World section to generate a fresh map.

Typical fields:

World Name

Choose a folder/name for the world.

Examples:

  • survival_main
  • creative_build
  • hardcore_run

Seed (Optional)

Enter a custom seed for specific terrain generation.

Leave blank for a random world.

Difficulty

Choose starting difficulty such as:

  • Peaceful
  • Easy
  • Normal
  • Hard

Then click Create World.

Import World (ZIP)

Use Import World (ZIP) to upload an existing Minecraft world.

Useful for:

  • Moving from another host
  • Restoring a backup
  • Uploading custom adventure maps
  • Bringing in a single-player world

Typical steps:

  1. Stop the server
  2. Click Choose File
  3. Select the ZIP file
  4. Click Import World
  5. Switch to the imported world if needed
  6. Start the server

Recommended World Uses

Separate Play Styles

Keep multiple worlds such as:

  • Survival
  • Creative
  • Testing
  • Event world

Seasonal Resets

Create a fresh survival world while preserving old ones.

Safe Experimenting

Use a test world for mods, redstone, or admin changes.

Troubleshooting

World not appearing

Check:

  • ZIP imported successfully
  • Correct folder structure inside ZIP
  • Server was stopped during import

Wrong world loaded

Use Switch and confirm the desired world is active.

World missing progress

You may be on a different world than expected.

Check active world name.

Server fails after import

Possible causes:

  • Corrupt world files
  • Incompatible version
  • Incomplete ZIP contents

Tips

  • Name worlds clearly.
  • Keep backups before deleting or importing.
  • Stop the server before all world changes.
  • Use separate worlds instead of risky resets.
  • Store old worlds for nostalgia or future events.
